Samaritans Walkies for wellbeing – Sunday 20th October
A charity dog walk was held in Tim Smythe Park on October 27th in aid of Ennis Samaritans. The walk was part of the walkies for well-being campaign and mental health month. Samaritans' 'Walkies For Wellbeing' 2024 dog-walking challenge had over 1,000 people taking part across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Supporters and their pooches put their best paws forward by walking 100km throughout the month to support Samaritans’ mission of fewer lives lost to suicide. Regular exercise and quality time with pets have been shown to boost wellbeing – so, it's the perfect way to celebrate Mental Health Month.
